LONDON: Babar Azam has become the highest run-scorer in one World Cup tournament for Pakistan.When he reached 60 in the course of his 96 in Pakistan’s last league match against Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday, he broke Javed Miadad’s record of scoring the most runs in a tournament of the World Cup.Miandad had made 437 runs (ave 62.42) in nine matches with five fifties, being 89 was the highest, in the World Cup 1992 .Babar Azam has made 474 runs at an average of 67.71 in eight innings with one hundred and three fifties in the World Cup 2019. Other Pakistani batsmen scoring 300 or more runs in a World Cup were 368 Saeed Anwar (368 in 1999), Misbah-ul-Haq (350 in 2015) and Ramiz Raja (349 in 1987)
